Go-Kart Derby

I enjoyed building my go-kart because it  was fun and challenging.
I found it hard to convince my self to go down the hill the fist time.
I found it easy to steer my go-kart.
I am proud of my final product because it goes down the hill well and it is fun.

Wellington Adventure

On Sunday Room 4 hopped on a bus at 7.30am and drove to Wellington. Our bus driver was Don and he used to be a principal. To keep us entertained we watched movies like Jurassic Park, Despicable Me 3 and Avengers Infinity War. We stopped at Napier and had some lunch. Then we hit the road again. A few hours later we got to Silverstream retreat. My bunk buddy were Blake and Charlie D. At 6.30pm we headed over to the dining room. The chefs cooked a yummy lasagna. Then we had to go to bed at 9.00 O'clock.

One Monday we went to Parliament. Parliament is made out of three buildings, The beehive, Parliament house and the Library. Our host was William his job in Parliament educated (teacher). We went to his class room and it was set up as the debating chamber. He told as to try sit on a seat with words on the on it. The set I sat on was The Leader of the opposition  and the prime minister sat opposite me. William showed us all around Parliament and the historical things. The buildings are smartly joined by tunnels.

After Parliament we went to Te Papa museum. We split of into groups of three or more. My group was Blake, Charlie D and Charlie B. The first expedition was Blood, Earth and Fire. We thort it was the Earthquake room but we were wrong and the real Earthquake room was shut down. Then we moved to lots of other expedition but my favourite place was the  Gallipoli expedition. It was amazing because the soldiers looked so real. There was a gun and it was made higher with wood and the scope was mirrors reflecting.

On Tuesday we went to Weta Workshop and all the things there looked so real. Our tour guide was Ress and he was really funny. At the beginning he said “we’re not aloud to touch anything but because i’m naughty i'll let you touch some things” so we got to hold some guns and swords.  My favourite gun I held was the tommy gun because it felt so real and it looked really cool. Then we moved over to where Ress worked. His job is making chain armor. For fun he makes cool mask’s. Weta workshop also helped Te papa make there Gallipoli soldier.

The Secret of Te Papa

The Secret of Te Papa
Once upon a time a secret was kept in the historic Te Papa museum and no one knew until I came along. I’m Mikey, the new museum guard but not just any guard I’m a night guard. My first shift is tonight at 6.00 pm, I can’t wait. My mission is to find out the secret of the museum and I’m starting with the Egyptian expedition. You can’t hide from the museum because I’m Mikey the night guard. It hit 6.00 o'clock and I was ready to go. When I opened the door I was thinking in my head “there’s nothing to worry about it’s just a friendly museum don’t worry.”

I was walking around the Egyptian expedition when I saw some sort of glowing tablet. I turned around and then I saw 20 odd mummies walking around the expedition. Then, they saw me, so I rann!!! I ran all over the place until I found my way out but the whole museum was alive! I was freaking out. The
T-rex was destroying the place and it was like Soldiers were starting a whole new war but how will they clean it up? All I’m concerned is to find out how they came to live.

When I was in the Egyptian expedition, I’m pretty sure, I saw a mummie near the glowing tablet thing and even heard it. I didn't get near it because I was running away. When I am able to get through the mummies I will solve the case but how will I am able to get through the mummies? BANG! CRASH! BOOM! I’m through, now to find out how to stop the ruckus. I started to play around with the tablet. Then I stopped, I could hear nothing but walking and things going on shelves. I went out to look and everything was back to normal. I think, I Mikey, the night, guard, has done it again,  goodbye for now.

Reflective symmetry

It was fun creating reflective symmetry because it was a challenge. First I made a mistake by making my shapes wonky. I fixed it by photo copying the original copy in colour. Reflective symmetry is when you mirror a shape. The line of symmetry is the line between the shapes. I choose my shape because it was easy and it made a good reflection.

Imagine a Night reflection

It was fun writing imagine a night because I used descriptive words to make the story sound better. It was a challenge to choose the right words to make it flow better and put the sentences in the right order. When we finished the writing we shared it with room 3 as an  example.

Imagine a Night

Imagine a night when the Egyptian mummies come to life and chase you down.

Imagine a night when the giant t-rex destroys all the treasures the museum owns.

Imagine a night when it hit six o’clock and you were shoved into the mysteries museum.

Imagine a night when you suddenly hear a BANG! and you see about 13 soldiers were trying to shoot you down.

Imagine a night when when you had to risk your life for just to be a hero.

Imagine a night when mummies and soldiers we’re all trying to kill you but you just split throw them.
